“I chose Hurstwood Farm because I wanted a quiet, relaxing stay over Xmas and New Year, to see the 20+ horses up clos and to be within a reasonable distance of Uckfield. Mike and Amy are very friendly, wonderful hosts. The holiday cottage itself is small and cosy, like a studio apartment, with ample facilities and the appliances, such as the TV, microwave, gas oven, toaster are very good indeed. The BT internet was also totally reliable and fast. Parking was easy, even with our fairly large vehicle. I think it would be an especially pleasant place to stay in one of their larger holiday homes and/or in the summer with better weather. Hearing the occasional clip-clop and whinny around the cottage was always a welcome sound and the birdlife was unexpectedly pleasant, with robins right up close to the window and green woodpeckers by the entrance. The starry nights were also amazingly clear for the UK, so any fans of astronomy or aurorae would enjoy that. I would certainly stay there again.”

“Cosy cottage, beautiful surroundings, lovely horses. To improve – some hooks or a rack for the towels would be nice (bathroom). Fix or renew the tables and benches outside. Hacking! It was a bit unfortunate that we could only canter on the xc course. Thank you for the warm welcome, we felt at home! Very friendly staff.”

“Camping Pod: We loved High Hurstwood so much we came back for a second time! And we had an amazing stay, just as amazing as the first time we stayed. “Amazing training today with @emma.mcgurk.1 @hurstwoodfarmequestriancentre on the mechanical horse, it’s an impressive setup.I took my own saddle to ride in along with my hat,gloves and boots.We did some warm up exercises and stretches, I have issues with my right hip so we worked on loosening it before I got on.Onboard I got, it was very strange to start with and we did have a few giggles as we had a walk, trot and canter to see how I was riding.I always feel that I sit wonky, not on my right bum cheek so we then worked with different Franklin balls and stretchy bands to try and correct my posture, it was really interesting to see how different methods work and I could really feel it, Emma got me to close my eyes a few times which made me completely straight in the saddle 🤷‍♂️I’d highly recommend booking and having a go as I learnt so much and really enjoyed myself, the horse is incredible and very lifelike and as always Emma is a wealth of knowledge and advise to help you improve.I now need to book some physio/ciro treatments for myself and continue with my journey on myself to help Elvis and Rusty to the best of my ability with my riding.”

“I would recommend Hurstwood for a rural countryside stay. It is very much as advertised, the campsite and huts look as the photos. The place is quite remote so be aware it’s a 10ish min drive to nearest shops but through beautiful countryside so you can take in some view on the way. I went for one night with my husband and daughter (we took our own camp bed for the kiddo) and we all had a great time.”

“Lovely small campsite with clean facilities. Had one pod and one tent pitch next to each other. Children loved exploring the woods. Nearby pub has excellent service, excellent food and is only a short walk away, with a playground across the road.””

“Really lovely campsite surrounded by nature, pretty woods and nice walks. Very friendly staff. You have to park a 5 minute walk away but they dropped us off with all our stuff in a buggy and picked us up. We underestimated the cold and left a night early and the staff we spoke to were really nice and even offered us a duvet!””
