                    RIDING HOLIDAYS                        

NEW FOR 2012!  We are now taking bookings for riding holidays. Accommodation in our superb 4 star cottages plus lessons, hacking and trekking on Ashdown Forest. We can offer a weeks holiday including daily riding from as little as £370pp pw. Alternatively a short 3 night break with riding can cost as little as £185pp. Call us with your requirements for a quotation.

Apart from the excellent flatwork and cross country facilities at Hurstwood Farm, there is extensive bridleway riding and riding on Ashdown Forest. Hurstwood has Forest riding permits for the use of guests.

PROBLEM HORSE?

Here at Hurstwood we specialise in training and breaking liveries. If you have a youngster that needs backing/bringing on or maybe a horse that needs to learn to jump and gain confidence give us a call so that we can see if we can help. Often there is a need to focus on the partnership of horse and rider. A combined programme of schooling and lessons often yields the best results. Our facilities are excellent including a full size arena, indoor school and first class cross country course over 80 acres.

About our Self Catering Cottages;

Our three cottages form part of a conversion of an attractive 150 year old barn surrounding a cobbled courtyard.

We are 4* Tourist Board accredited. All cottages have Wireless Internet Connection. The cottages are part of a stunning Sussex estate, to which guests have full access. Click here for pictures of the estate

The holiday cottages are designed and furnished to a high standard and comprise a living area with open plan, fully equipped kitchens and a mezzanine floor with two single beds or a double.

Although primarily designed for two people, they can accommodate up to 4 people if necessary as there is a sofa bed in the living area.

The countryside around the estate is beautiful for walking.

Hurstwood Farm is situated in the East Sussex countryside at  HighHurstwood, between Crowborough and Uckfield.

The local area offers a wide variety of activities for those

without an Equestrian interest. Recreational facilities within easy reach include the 6500 acre of sssi heathland Ashdown Forest with its famous connections to the heartwarming Winnie the Pooh stories by A A Milne.

Why not follow the trail and play pooh-sticks on the actual "Pooh Bridge" described in the books?!

Places to go

The picturesque County town of Lewes is within half an hour's drive;  the same is of the historic spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells, both offer numerous restaurants, high class shops and tourist attractions.

Our nearest City is Brighton - and we think Brighton is very special with it's unique mix of history and modern culture. Enjoy a walk down the cobbled lanes, with an amazing selection of shops that you won't find any where else. If you are looking for a special outfit or piece of jewelry this is the place to go. On our links page you will find the address of the official Brighton Tourism site which will show up to date information on events, clubs, theatres and restaurants, the beach, the Marina - this list goes on....
