The Environment

Hurstwood Farm is situated in the East Sussex countryside at High Hurstwood, between Crowborough and Uckfield.

The countryside around the estate is beautiful for walking and cycling.

There are an abundance of public footpaths and walkers can set off from the farm and enjoy walking for miles without encountering hardly any road work.

Mike has a great love for the environment which is very important to him.  The hedges on the farm are left and only cut every 3 to 4 years to enable different species of birds to nest here.  Around the perimeter of the fields there is a 1 to 2 metre strip left to encourage wildlife such as field mice, butterflies and moths.  Also on site there is approximately 20 acres of woodland which is left natural to encourage insects and as many different species of birds as possible, you can often see the odd fox roaming and buzzards circling and quite often you will see a herd of deer anything from 4 or 5 to 20 or 30 strolling across the pastures, these include Roe and Fallow Deer.

Please come and enjoy the environment.
