About Us

Hurstwood Farm consists of an old farmhouse set in about 80 acres of beautiful, outstanding natural beauty, Sussex countryside. The land is organised into a number of post and rail fenced paddocks and a first class cross country course. Hurstwood Farm’s excellent cross country course has a variety of fences winding over 80 acres of undulating fields and woodland from 1’6 to 3’3 in height. There is an initial practice field which is great for a novice horse or rider. The cross country course is well cared for with good take off and landing of sand and wood chippings. Hire and Facilities There are superb equestrian facilities including a purpose built stable yard for 16 horses, an outdoor arena (60×20) and an indoor school (30×16) Both of which have big mirrors at one end and a good surface so all the horses can work to a high standard. One of the old barns has been converted into 3 very comfortable self contained 4* accredited holiday cottages. There is also a  Bronze Accommodation Holiday Barn and Studio for when clubs or large groups of people want to come and stay with their horses. The farm is situated on the edge of High Hurstwood village and is very quiet with no nearby roads or railways. There is little or no overhead flight traffic, just rolling countryside and an undisturbed scenic view.  All of Hurstwood staff are experienced with horses and enjoy making our guests feel welcome.
