Andrew Gould Dressage Clinic
23rd June 2009
The Sun definitely shone down on Hurstwood Farm on the morning of our Andrew Gould Clinic!
With a full mornings itinerary of clients, Andrew arrived at 9am and immediately cracked on with his first booking: Fiona Mitchell, our next door neighbour from Holders Farm, (piccies and feedback to follow)
Next up, our livery client Claire Chapman and her coloured gelding Ameretto Gold. Claire has recently started BE with Baby and had her first outing this season at Rackham on the 14th at a Riding Club competition, in which she came sixth (see our livery diaries)
Claire felt she gained a great deal from her 45 minutes and is keen to put into action what she learnt at Borde Hill next week. She hopes also to have regular lessons now with Andrew and felt his style of teaching and empathy to both horse and rider worked well with progressing her partnership with Baby.
Charlie Darby, our resident Equine Bodyworker and Accounts lady! Followed with her 12yr old bay mare, Tia:
"I thoroughly enjoyed my lesson with Andrew and found his way of teaching to be extremely beneficial. Although it was very hot, we both worked hard and through his sensitive and enjoyable approach to teaching, Andrew managed to get my horse moving the best I've ever felt! I will definitely be booking into the next clinic"
Resident Stable Jockey Rachael Smith brought out Mike Pococks 6yr old gelding Frederick (see diary pages) In his 2nd lesson with Andrew the pair decided to concentrate on the weeker elements brought out by their recent test scores; balance and controlling impulsion. Rachael was very pleased with the way Fred went and Andrew was able to help Rachael have the confidence to ride forward and allow Freds activity into her hand.
