British Horse Society Chief Executive Graham Cory visits Hurstwood Farm!!

We are very proud to announce that we have become the

1000th BHS Approved Livery Yard!!

We are honoured that Mr Cory, along with BHS yard inspector Alan Bingle and BHS Development Officer Claire McCaffrey-Clarke took time out of their days to come down and present us with our plaque on Monday 1st February 2010

The approval scheme accreditation has given us the recognition and endorsement that we are acheiving our vision of creating an environment where owners can rest assured that their horses are provided with the care, attention, fitness and education needed to produce a well rounded happy horse!

Our equestrian centre is proud to be able to offer a modern,purpose built stable yard, indoor and outdoor (60x20) arenas with Mirrors,showjumps on grass and a superb cross country course.

All set within 80 acres of undulating farmland nestled in the beautiful wealden countryside.

We offer tailor made livery packages, designed around our clients individual needs. Concentrating on providing added value to our clients, we aim to deliver a service catering for the needs of the working owner who wishes to have an active involvement in the care and training of their horse.

Specialists in providing a unique breaking and reschooling service,we pride ourselves in offering programmes based on educating both horse and rider as a partnership.

We are able to provide a holistic system addressing each individual horse, based on physical, nutritional and psychological elements.

On site accommodation in our newly converted 4* Tourist Board accredited barn complex is available and residential instruction courses are tailored to suit individual needs.We regularly run training clinics in all three disciplines and can organize courses bringing in a number of renowned trainers to suit specific requirements.

The Cottages

The holiday cottages are designed and furnished to a high standard and comprise a living area with open plan, fully equipped kitchens and a mezzanine floor with two single beds or a double.

Although primarily designed for two people, they can accommodate up to 4 people if necessary as there is a sofa bed in the living area.

Hurstwood Farm is situated in the East Sussex countryside at

High Hurstwood, between Crowborough and Uckfield.

The local area offers a wide variety of activities for those

without an Equestrian interest. Recreational facilities within easy reach include the 6500 acre of sssi heathland Ashdown Forest with its famous connections to the heartwarming Winnie the Pooh stories by A A Milne.

Why not follow the trail and play pooh-sticks on the actual "Pooh Bridge" described in the books?!

The picturesque County town of Lewes is within half an hour's drive; the same is true of Brighton and the historic spa town of Tunbridge Wells,

both of which offer numerous restaurants, high class shops and tourist attractions.
